Think Tank

Think Tank (90 minutes)
Think tanks are semi-structured learning sessions designed to provide specific skills and to facilitate lively interaction and collective learning.  No more than 60 minutes of the think tank should be devoted to the presentation of prepared material, leaving at least 30 minutes for creative discussion. Think tank abstracts must outline (a) why the topic is important and timely, (b) the 2 major objectives of the think tank, (c) strategies to achieve the objectives, and (d) methods to encourage active participation.

Panel Discussion

Panel Discussion (60 minutes)
A panel discussion provides diverse perspectives on topics related to the conference theme.  The panel should consist of no more than three presenters including the presenter/moderator.  Panel proposal abstracts must outline (a) why the topic is important and timely, and (b) the 2 major objectives of the panel.  The names of the moderator and each panelist including his/her credentials and area of expertise should be listed separately from the abstract.

Brief Paper Presentation

Brief Paper Presentation (30 minutes)
A brief paper presentation is designed to introduce educational innovations or research findings that relate to the conference theme. The format is typically a 20-minute formal podium presentation given with slides followed by a 10-minute question-and-answer period. Brief paper abstracts must outline (a) the purpose, (b) methodology used, (c) result found, and (d) conclusion drawn from the project.

Poster

Poster Session
Posters enable researchers and noncommercial developers to demonstrate and discuss curricular innovations or research findings pertaining to the theme of the conference. The informal atmosphere of a poster session lends itself well to networking. Poster proposal abstracts must detail (a) the problem, (b) what was done, and c) why the work is important. All posters accepted for presentation must fit within a 5’x 4’ poster board.
