Objectives
At the conclusion of this conference, participants should be able to:
  • Define professionalism in objective, observable terms
  • Design a community-based learning experience that requires a trainee to demonstrate authentic professionalism in the care of patients and families
  • Describe the ethical principles that trainees must demonstrate in order to display professionalism

Audience
The 2010 ABSAME Meeting is designed to educate and enlighten:
  • Physicians, psychologists, sociologists, anthropologists, nurses, public health practitioners, social workers, and other professionals and behavioral scientists engaged in medical education and practice
  • Medical school and residency level faculty who seek to develop and implement teaching experiences that promote behavioral science-based core competencies
  • Health care trainees in all disciplines who want to know more about becoming excellent health care providers
  • Professionals working in community-based agencies who wish to help prepare the next generation of providers to accept responsibility for the health of the public

Registration and Refund Policy
Advance registration is requested by September 16, 2010. Registration received after this date will be subject to a late registration fee. We cannot guarantee enrollment until we receive a completed registration form and full payment.  Cancellations in writing received prior to September 24, 2010 will be assessed a $25 processing fee. No refund will be made after September 24, 2010. All refunds will be processed after the conference.

Membership in ABSAME
Annual membership dues are $125 for regular members and $50 for student members. Institutional memberships, which entitle an institution to five individual memberships and annual meeting registration waived for one member are available for $550 per year. The ABSAME membership year is from July 1 to June 30.
